Finally writing my own Christmas and Chanukah Cods
I've put it off as long as possible, but am now earnestly writing cods to everyone on my list!

"Tis the Season for Cods

December 6, 2008
Several things to note as Christmas and Chanukah approach...people have been asking to purchase the Christmas Cod ornament (right)...and yes, it would be a beautiful one and perhaps it will be next year, but it does not exist this year. It is a card or print only. I hate disappointing people but folks, it does say "card" on my site.
Speaking of cards, they are flying out of here and many of the stores carrying them. I do have a supply of all five designs, and like most people this year, I will not be doing my usual mass mailing. It would be in poor taste...but sending out a few tasteful "cods" is perfectly acceptable. Everyone who sees or receives a "cod" loves it. Whoever would have guessed that the singularly unattractive codfish could morph into such an appealing and praiseworthy creature?
I really love the lobster peace card, (above) even though it isn't a cod, and think its message is very timely this year.
It interests me that in designing these "cods" I considered only Cape Cod as my audience, but so many of my sales are to people in Canada, Europe, and other parts of the United States...weird, isn't it? Who knew they would have such universal appeal.

Cape Card has official trademark!
When I returned from my trip to NY Saturday, my official certificate of registration for Cape Card was in the mail. I did the whole process through legalzoom.com. Worked great! I did my own search which saved a lot of time and money.

Cape Card in The Cape Cod View magazine
Apparently, The Cape Cod View holiday issue hit the stands this past week, and I am already seeing some results. We received a substantial order from an individual in NJ and a store on Martha's Vineyard ordered 10 boxes of The Christmas Cod to start. At left is the ad I designed that shows The Christmas Cod, Lobster Peace and Christmas Ornament Cod.

Fall for the Arts on Cape Cod
I'm a bit overwhelmed at all I need to do to prepare Cape Card for the Oct. 4 and 5 weekend. Having long sleeve tees and hooded sweatshirts printed, placemats, fine art prints. Need to print out a number of archival prints and frame some, design banner for booth, box up cards. This is actually turning into more of a to-do list than blog. More interesting stuff to come hopefully. Should be a good weekend to also show and sell Christmas Cods.
